Mission:
To represent athletes views, rights and interests by making their voices heard
within their national federation and the Namibian National Olympic Committee
What does it mean to be an Representative:
a: The object of an athlete representative is to represent other athletes within
their National Federation.
b: An athlete representative is elected or selected by other athletes and not by
the federation.
c: Athlete representatives guarantee that the athlete's voices are expressed,
collaboratively, professionally and effectively and that the athlete's views remain
central to the federation's decision-making process.
d: They serve an important role as the point of contact between their fellow
athletes, the Federation's leadership and the Namibian Athletes Commission
Who can be an Athlete Representative?
a: Must be at least 16 years of age
b: Never received any sanction in relation of the Worl Anti-Doping Code
c: At the time of election /nomination process, the candidate must have participated
at the minimum standard of national level or has done so within the last four years.
